hey, all.

it's been forever. like, a year? almost. haha. wow. let's just say I had 9,998 deviations to look at and finally got sick of seeing that number grow. I had to say bye-bye. along with the journals, hot topics, polls, etc. that I was also tired of not looking at.

anyway, it's summer, which means I have some time and will be on here every now and then. I don't know how much art I'll be uploading, because my tablet is acting up, but I do love trades and they give me good reason to sit down and try on a picture. haha. guess my own characters aren't enough inspiration.

also, I'm working on another novel...hopefully this is one that I finish. anyone who would like to read that, message me, I'll see what I can do. I'm at about 15,000 words, 25 pages, that sort of thing. I'm loving it.

college is amazing, you guys. I had a crappy second year if you just look at it in terms of what happened, but I grew so much. speaking of growing, I read the most amazing book: Waking the Dead, by John Eldredge. literally turned everything upside down. and now everything has a little extra...shimmer? I don't know. life is good.

so I'll be commenting here and there on pieces I really like, that sort of thing. it's kind of nice to get back into this community again. don't get me wrong, I love my college friends to death - but some of you guys have watched me grow, which is kind of special.

wow, I'm waxing poetically cheesy. I'm going to go to work now before I get any worse.

So last night, as I was doing art at 1:30 in the a.m., I realized that when I'm in a hurry or am being sketchy/spontaneous/freer with my art, I'm much better at it. I got this crazy idea of doing "15-minute trades" with people, just to see what comes of it.

The object of this is to see what you can produce in fifteen minutes of arting on one piece. Fifteen. That's all. (Or for some, maybe that's a lot, I dunno.) As such, the rules:

1. You must do the art in fifteen minutes. Not more, not less. Set a timer or something.
2. You must do the art and post it on DeviantArt within a day of requesting a trade. I will do the same.
3. You must post the product of fifteen minutes of work. However, if you really like the piece, you can post the fifteen-minute piece as a WIP and finish it later.
4. Feel free to post this in your own journal!

After a nice little hiatus (also known as the wonderful, amazing school of Seattle Pacific University)...I'm back.

More or less.

It's summer, I'm away from my school friends, and I made a promise to someone very special that I'd have a good three months away from him. So yeah. Looks like I'll be commenting on art and maybe making some again. Poetry's been my thing recently, so that'll pop up here and there too.
